"I turn to space and time, to the far and the near, moving down and up. I look at nature, leave and return to it: still, growing, sky and water, horizon and earth. The gaze scans, stops at a point and discovers that there is movement, a meeting. And perhaps I am examining this vision itself, which is nourished by the light and darkness both playing in front of it, a movement between two extremes that advance towards each other, until they meet and create one, absolute and fragile being.
I paint on large canvases or stretched papers, they are not placed in a frame, thus allowing me to change size and look. Diluted and transparent oil paints, charcoal powders and thick pigments, pencils and wax come to seal or allow the light and the dark. Sometimes adding and sometimes subtracting, until the mix finds its place.
The gaze turns outward to the visible, to what exists there, but mainly to what exists inside, changing with the cycles of life and time."
